Not long ago, Jeanne Zender created and then found herself having the opportunity to pitch a television talk show for moms called The Changing Table to top Hollywood executives. The show’s mission was to create a television program that would offer women a chance to build a community of support and connect them during the most prevalent time of their lives and have a lot of fun while doing so!
After several meetings with different producers, actresses and studios she found one common question, “Who are you?” Followed by, “You’re just a mom with a good idea.” Frustrated with the idea of being perceived as ‘just a mom’ the idea for Be Mom Couture was born.
Jeanne believes as moms we have many different roles on any given day reflecting the expression of motherhood’s myriad of facets, which made Be Mom Couture blossom. Then came the question, how to create The Changing Table and offer Be Mom Couture products to other women. Soon it became clear that the two could work together and give women a chance to connect in a unique and different way!
Jeanne began to realize she could make the television show happen without a television screen. She also knew that she could build a strong community of women supporting women, while helping them realize their dreams as well. Be Mom Couture products would bring the mommy styles to life in a new way and support the modern mom creating the balance we all strive to achieve. The Changing Table would build connections with women around the globe and create a new experience for the modern mom. The result: women connecting, sharing stories and shopping unique and chic products all at the same time.
She was joined by long-time friend Charlotte Baron, who was excited about the new venture. Both from creative backgrounds, they met while studying dance in college. During a summer visit at the beach Charlotte was carrying the most adorable ruffled handbag that her sister, Stephanie Michele had designed. After Jeanne shared her idea of the company Charlotte soon had the idea of designing a handbag for each mommy style. She has now become a creative force and vital part of the company.
Alyson Kendall soon became a part of the adventure after she and Jeanne got to know each other through the “Meeting of the Moms” at the daily drop-off and pick-up at preschool. Through school activities and play dates Alyson soon learned about Be Mom Couture. As a graphic designer she was eager to be part of the fun. She took on the task of designing and branding the look of Be Mom Couture. She has now joined the creative force that is the trio of Be Mom Couture.
The products have now come to life and are the celebration of the different styles that reflect our lives as moms each and everyday. Nowhere else is that difference more unique and celebrated than in the Be Mom Couture mommy styles themselves. Be Mom Couture is bringing sophisticated and chic styles that reflect the passion we feel as women during the most prevalent time in our lives. The Changing Table will redefine the genre and become a new way of connecting to other women.
Be Mom Couture is not just a product, it is a vision... creating connections, one mommy style at a time.
Jeanne is passionate about her work and is thrilled about the new adventure of Be Mom Couture. She received her BFA from Towson University in Dance Performance and Education and was the Artistic Director, teacher and choreographer for the Jazz Dance Department at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, GA before moving back to Maryland last year. While living in Atlanta, she also created Sky Dancer Productions, a company that produced workshops with well-known choreographers for dancers around the country. She traveled throughout the country bringing these choreographers to dancers that were not able to travel to New York or Los Angeles. She has also choreographed for numerous dance companies, television and performances around the country, with an emphasis on musical theatre. With her love of creating and production she was given the opportunity to create a television show for moms and through this experience Be Mom Couture was born. It is her husband and two boys who have inspired her to create this company and who continue to be her constant support and loves of her life.
Charlotte is a proud wife, and mother of two. As a child, she developed a love for dance and continued that love as a graduate of Towson State University, earning a BFA in Dance Performance and Education. Upon graduation, she began teaching, but left the system when her first child was born. She continues to teach ballet privately and manages to actually take a class or two every now and then. A real Sugar Mommy, Charlotte loves to bake all things delicious and take care of her family.
The true Marathon Mommy. By day she is enjoys life with her two busy little boys, fitting in errands, play dates and lots of laughing. By night she is busy putting her BFA in Graphic Design to work. After graduating from Auburn University in 1997, Alyson moved to the DC area where she worked for Patricia Hord Graphik Design until the birth of her first son in 2004. Since then she has been doing freelance graphic design and now is keeping very busy with Be Mom Couture. She is very excited about the adventure and is having a blast...even if it makes for some late nights.
